Although it is difficult for most smokers, the best way to quit smoking is to just quit. Smoking is harmful to your health, but quitting can reduce or eliminate many of the health consequences of smoking. No matter your reason for starting, quitting now will have a dramatic affect on your health, now and in the future. A tip for going cold turkey, try chewing a piece of sugar-free gum instead of having a cigarette, it can help.

Smoking tobacco has been linked to heart disease, lung cancer emphysema and stroke. In addition to these devastating diseases, smoking can cause fine wrinkles to appear in your skin, particularly around you mouth and eyes.

Tobacco smoke causes cancer whether you are a smoker yourself or you are breathing in second-hand smoke.

Ways to Quit Smoking

Once a socially acceptable habit, smoking is now frowned upon and forbidden in most public places. If the risks to your health are not enough incentive, consider the impact on your social life. Statistics indicate that most people who successfully quit smoking do so cold turkey. This may be due to the fact that people who quit cold turkey are committed to quitting.

For this quit smoking tip, you would have to start right now, as soon as you decide that you want to quit this awful, unhealthy, unsanitary habit, and not have another cigarette again. This is not about cutting down or using stop smoking aids, and you have to have a lot of willpower and determination to do it this way, but it is definitely the best way to quit smoking.

While the nicotine in these products is not good for your health , it presents fewer risks than smoking. Some smokers have found that hypnotism or aversion therapy worked when other methods failed. Some smokers chose to quit gradually over time, by reducing the number of cigarettes they smoke each day. How you quit is less important than that you do quit a! nd don't pick up the habit again.

Make sure that you take this seriously no matter which stop smoking aid you use, so that you can have the best chances of quitting for good, once and for all.
