Hypnosis can help you to lose weight, reduce stress, aid in relieving depression, stop addictions and many other things. It is far from the stereotype of making someone cluck and flap there wings like a chicken just to be funny. Quit Smoking Hypnosis is a method that can actually help you to stop smoking.

Hypnosis is a method that encourages relaxation while putting the focus on a problem or a goal. Being hypnotized does not cause you to fall asleep. The mind and body may be relaxed but your subconscious is fully aware and working. The subconscious soaks up any suggestions. The subconscious mind is an interesting thing. It cannot differentiate between what is real and what is from the imagination. The conscious mind does that job. If suggestions go directly to the subconscious mind without getting through the conscious mind first you can do some very creative things. If you imagine not smoking then the subconscious mind will make it a reality.

Hypnotherapists reprogram the subconscious mind and they can change everyday behavior. Smoking is one of those behaviors that can be stopped. There are several ways of doing this. Using a hypnotherapist that is certified is the best way to go about quitting the smoking habit. It may take one session or it may take several. It depends on the person. You can also purchase DVD's or CD's that you can listen to in the office or in the car on the way to the office. This should be done in tandem with a hypnotherapy program.

The reason many people stop smoking only to start up again is because the subconscious is not involved in the process to stop. The subconscious quietly jabs at you telling you that you want a cigarette when your conscious mind says no. In order to stop smoking successfully it is best to make the subconscious believe that you no longer want to smoke. A hypnotherapist may ask questions in order to find out what activities are linked to smoking in your life. Maybe you smoke while watching TV or after dinner spurs on a cigarette. The therapist will enter into the subconscious and suggest other, more health activities to do while watching TV or after dinner. Once the link is broking it is easier to stop smoking.

A therapist will stress positive thinking and encourage family members and others to keep up the positive thinking. It is not unusual for the smoker to be told that smoking is easy to kick. Sometimes the suggestion is given that smoking leaves a terrible taste in the mouth and that suggestion works.

Not everyone can be hypnotized into not smoking however it is suggested that there is a good percentage of people that try hypnotism that do stop smoking. In most cases these people do not relapse because they no longer have the craving. If you want to stop smoking give hypnotism a try. It cannot hurt.
